Skin Care

We offer the most innovative products, treatments and serums to keep you looking and feeling healthy, beautiful and youthful. Explore some of the treatments and products Dr. Shaffer recommends to his patients below, available at Heartland Dermatology:

iS Clinical

The iS Skin Care® line of superior-quality cleansers, treatments, moisturizers, and sun protectants are powered by the most innovative ingredients on the market, and have been a mainstay of clinically substantiated skin care for more than a decade. The addition of reparative and preventative products represents a new generation of skincare that is easily integrated into any regime, resulting in skin that is healthier, more hydrated and uniquely shielded with advanced DNA protection.

Jane Iredale Makeup

Jane Iredale is the president and founder of Iredale Mineral Cosmetics, a company she founded in 1994 which brought the mineral makeup line jane iredale to the aesthetic industry. She was the first to supply this industry with a line of makeup that had skin care benefits.

Jane has always thought of makeup as an essential part of a woman’s sense of well-being and she wanted to make that easy to achieve.  That’s why her mineral powders are a foundation, powder, concealer and sunscreen all in one, and why every product in the line is multi-functional.  Her goal is to make products that look good, feel good and are good for the skin.  Products must be easy to apply, as well, so that a woman can be her best in the shortest amount of time.

EltaMD Sun Care

EltaMD broad-spectrum sunscreens provide safe, broad-spectrum ultraviolet (UV) protection. A broad-spectrum sunscreen helps prevent sunburn and if used as directed with other sun protection measures, decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun. Ultraviolet, or UV rays, are part of the invisible energy that comes from the sun. UVA (aging) rays account for 95% of our sun exposure. They cause skin aging and contribute to skin cancer. UVA rays penetrate deeply into the skin layers, damaging collagen and cells which leads to wrinkling, hyperpigmentation and loss of elasticity. UVB (burning) rays mostly affect the outer layer of the skin. They cause sunburns and tanning that increase the risk of skin cancer and other disorders. The risk for skin cancer doubles in people who have had five or more sunburns. Skin Cancer Foundation (Nov. 2010)

LATISSE® is a prescription drop that has been clinically proven to grow your eye lashes dramatically longer, thicker and darker in just 16 weeks. As the treatment progresses, you’ll first begin to see changes in length. Then, gradually, you’ll notice more thickness and darkness in your lashes. If you’re satisfied with your results by week 8, don’t stop there. Stick with the treatment. After week 16, you’ll see the full effect of LATISSE® solution — and so will others.
